2024 is set to be our most ambitious year to date in the HealthJoy product organization. With so much going on, I wanted to be sure to provide you with an update on all the new and upcoming enhancements our team has been working on.

Our second annual Member Health Goals report is now live! Over 96% of members who activated HealthJoy in 2023 provided us with at least one health goal—such as improving mental health or reducing back pain—giving us nearly 86,000 member responses to analyze.
This proprietary data is used to personalize the in-app experience and provide employees with personalized care recommendations based on their wants and needs to achieve healthier outcomes while containing costs.
Within this year’s report, we use the data to uncover differences between the benefits employees prefer and the ones offered to them by employers looking to drive successful outcomes.

New cost + quality data spans 99% of US providers and facilities
At HealthJoy, we’ve helped employees locate in-network providers and facilities across their entire benefits package for years. Now, we’re bringing provider cost and quality information directly to employees through a seamless, self-service experience.
Our Find Care search tool now integrates cost, quality and rating data powered by Ribbon Health—a leading healthcare data platform whose data spans 99.9% of providers and facilities in the US.
This enhancement to the Find Care experience takes the guesswork out of healthcare decisions, optimizing results for both employers and employees. HealthJoy places employees’ care preferences at the center of our Find Care experience. Members can either utilize HealthJoy’s comprehensive, easy-to-use, data-backed self-service provider and facility search tool for all their care needs or directly connect to HealthJoy’s concierge team for individual, 1:1 support.
SurgeryPlus delivers $15+ PEPM savings on average
We’re excited about our recent announcement to select Employer Direct Healthcare (EDH) as HealthJoy’s Surgery Centers of Excellence network partner.
SurgeryPlus is the market leading Center of Excellence (COE) in the enterprise employer market with over 350 large employer clients, including CVS Health, The Home Depot, and State Farm. By integrating the solution into our care navigation platform we will be able to help employers of all sizes offer accessible, excellent surgical care while delivering meaningful cost savings.
SurgeryPlus reduces costs by contracting directly with best-in-class providers at 60% lower rates than commercial pricing and by identifying unnecessary surgeries. All SurgeryPlus surgeons are individually-vetted, representing only those in the top 15% of their specialty. We’ll be able to help our members achieve a ~30% surgical avoidance rate and an industry-low 0.6% complication rate vs. the industry average of 8-15%.
Members also have access to a Comprehensive Care Team, including a 1:1 SurgeryPlus Care Advocate and HealthJoy benefits experts. The Care Team guides members through every step of the process – from finding a best-in-class provider to appointment scheduling to care coordination.
